Oris returns with two hot releases, an all-new chronograph and a charitable limited edition
Tom Austin- Oris has two new releases for Geneva Watch Days: one is a new Aquis Chronograph, the other a limited edition Divers Sixty-Five made in conjunction with France’s Ligue De Football Professional and the children’s charity CNAPE.
- The Aquis Chronograph has been refreshed with a lighter case profile, a tapered bracelet and a reworked dial with improved legibility.
- The Oris x LFP Limited Edition is a Divers Sixty-Five with a steel rotating uni-directional bezel and a specially made dial featuring colourful dial scripts and a playful Oris logo.
Oris is one of a handful of brands that exhibit both at Watches and Wonders Geneva in April, and Geneva Watch Days in August/September. For GWD, the Hölstein brand has brought two key releases: they’ve reintroduced the Aquis Chronograph, and they’ve also unveiled a charitable limited edition Divers Sixty-Five.
Oris Aquis Chronograph
Oris have been hard at work refreshing their range, and the latest addition to the Aquis Date Collection is the Aquis Chronograph. In keeping with the rest of the collection, it retains the details seen on the time & date-only Aquis Date, such as the heavily knurled, ceramic bezel, and large crown with substantial crown guards and ceramic bezel. That familiar silhouette has now evolved into a highly legible chronograph, something many chronographs struggle with.
The stainless steel case proportions have been improved, and despite it being quite a large piece at 43.5mm, the newly tapered bracelet makes it more comfortable to wear than previous models. Talking of bracelets, this also features the patented security folding clasp, making this a true tool watch. The dial has been carefully reworked, too, making the sub-dials at 3, 6 and 9 blend nicely into the gradient blue dial so as not to be too intrusive, and the date window has been repositioned to 6 o’clock to again make it unobtrusive, but still highly legible underneath that domed sapphire crystal.
Powering the watch is the self-winding Oris 771 movement, based on the Sellita SW500-1. Viewable through the mineral glass caseback, the movement is perfectly adequate for the job, with an extended 62-hour power reserve, 27 jewels and a 4Hz beat rate. Operating the movement is easily taken care of by large pushers and a screw-down crown, which helps offer a 300m water resistance – impressive for a chronograph. It is a dive-themed chronograph that can walk the walk as well as talk the talk, which is great to see.

Oris Divers Sixty-Five LFP Limited Edition
The second release from Oris is a limited edition Diver Sixty-Five, released in collaboration with France’s Ligue de Football Professionnel (France’s football governing body) and the children’s charity CNAPE (France’s National Convention of Child Protection Associations). Oris has been a partner of LFP since 2022 as their official timekeeper, timing games across France’s two top leagues, so it’s great to see the LFP wanting to make the most of that partnership. This collab runs a little deeper, too, with the watch being made to celebrate the Tournoi des Défenseurs de l’Enfance, an annual football tournament held that gives children an incredible experience and raises funds for associations supported by CNAPE, the LFP’s charity partner. It’s brilliant to see the world of watches being used for such amazing causes.
The watch itself is an Oris Divers Sixty-Five, a 38mm stainless steel dive watch and a popular model in the Oris line-up. One of the best things about the Sixty-Five is its case proportions, which help give it an almost classic diver look at 38mm, but with contemporary details. The surfaces are brushed throughout, making its tool watch intentions known straight away – especially so with the riveted tri-link bracelet, again a trusted classic feature. Its 100m water resistance isn’t quite up to scratch with most dive watches on the market, but this watch is a bit more about style (and supporting charity) over substance.
Underneath the domed sapphire crystal is the special blue dial, unique to this limited edition piece. It features some subtle cheeky details, such as the child-like typeface used for the printing and the Oris logo, plus the “water resistant” print being in the colours of the Tournoi des Défenseurs de l’Enfance logo. Aside from those details, it’s a standard Oris Sixty-Five dial, highly legible with large hands and hour markers. One other addition is the all-steel rotating bezel, usually reserved for the no-date version. This is the date model, though, and as such, features the self-winding Oris 733, which is a lightly modified Sellita SW200-1a movement with a 41-hour power reserve. Lastly, the watch is finished off with an engraved caseback; each numbered between 1 and 1000 for this model only.
