Tudor goes racing blue with a new Formula 1-themed Black Bay Ceramic
Russell Sheldrake- Tudor finally releases the Black Bay Ceramic that Visa Cash App RB drivers wore since the start of the 2024 F1 season.
- The blue dial matches the accents of the RB livery, accompanied by two straps – a leather/rubber hybrid and fabric NATO.
- Priced at US$5,150, it’s powered by the Kenissi-made MT5602-1U with 70 hours of power reserve.
Lights out, and away we go! Tudor has now released the Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” originally made exclusively for the Formula 1 team Visa Cash App RB. Featuring a blue dial that matches the team’s livery, it was first seen earlier in the year on the wrists of drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda, but no official communication was made about it. Now we know that it is being made available to the general public.
We’ve seen this watch before. While this exact model appeared in photos of the two drivers back in February, the Black Bay Ceramic has been in the company’s catalogue since 2021 and was first teased as an Only Watch lot back in 2019. Now we are seeing Tudor’s continued strategy to align the brand with some of the more exciting sports teams around the world.
While Rolex partnerships appear to be aimed purely at prestige, the teams that Tudor has joined forces with seem to take a different approach. Visa Cash App RB (or VCARB for short) has two of the most fun drivers on the F1 grid right now, and while Ricciardo and Tsunoda may not be fighting for pole every weekend, they bring a level of positivity, energy, and youthfulness to the sport that feels perfect for a brand like Tudor.
It’s an easy comparison to make to Tudor’s pro cycling team or the brand’s relationship with Inter Miami FC. They offer great entertainment and bring a point of difference to their respective sports, just as Tudor does to the watch world. So seeing this blue-dial Ceramic Black Bay enter regular production is fantastic: not only is it a handsome watch, but it gives F1 fans another way to connect with one of the more approachable teams on the grid.
Of course, the facts and figures of this watch are to the high standard that we have all come to expect from Tudor, featuring the blacked-out, METAS-certified, Kenissi calibre MT5602-1U that gives 70 hours of power reserve and looks rather striking in its monochromatic colourway to match its hi-tech ceramic case. The watch comes on a hybrid rubber and leather strap to accentuate its sporting abilities, with a fully fabric NATO strap in the box as well.

What is interesting to note with this new release is they are not exact copies of the ones that Yuki and Danny Ric have been wearing since February: as we were able to confirm for ourselves at Watches and Wonders in April this year, those watches have winding rotors that feature the VCARB logo. The drivers were also seen wearing special editions of this watch for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix which featured multi-coloured iridescent dials that matched their car’s unique spray-painted livery for the race.
