Our first Time+Tide Studio Pop-Up in Sydney was a roaring success – so we’re planning more!
Jamie WeissThe Time+Tide team has been doing informal trunk shows for years around Australia – touching base with our readers and sharing some of the watches we carry with them – but until now, we’ve never been able to take the full Time+Time Studio experience on the road. Late last month, we hosted our first official Time+Tide Studio Pop-Up in Sydney, and I’m pleased to report it was a huge success.
Over 200 watch enthusiasts joined our team for two days of watches, community and fun on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of June, with our room at the QT Hotel in Sydney’s CBD absolutely humming non-stop. We brought plenty of watches to town, but we’re pleased to say that not all of them made their way back to Melbourne – with many timepieces finding new homes with collectors in the Harbour City. Just One More Watch’s Jody also joined us on Sunday to meet fans and exhibit his new watch brand, Erebus, which also went down a treat with the Sydney watch community.

“From the moment the doors opened, the energy was electric… It was fantastic to see so many of you taking advantage of the weekend to find your perfect watch, we wish we could’ve stayed longer!” Mitch Barber, Time+Tide Studio Manager shares.
“I’m always shocked to see the enthusiasm of the watch community. To be welcomed to Sydney with such warmth and excitement was incredible to experience. We had more than 200 watch fans join us over two days, some from as far as Canberra and the North Coast. It was a huge weekend, but I can’t wait for the next one!”
Alex Hindley, the Time+Tide Assistant Studio Manager adds “our first Studio Pop-Up was a success, felt across not only the Time+Tide team but also the Erebus team, the QT Sydney and all of you fantastic enthusiasts who attended.
“While the goal of the event was to translate the same experience a visitor would have at our Melbourne Watch Discovery Studio, we also knew it would be a learning experience for future pop-ups. A cascading wave of positive feedback helped secure this concept as one we should and will be replicating across more locations – we were also very happy to hear feedback too. We want our audience to know we value their experiences and opinions and have already implemented some of your suggestions into how we will operate these Studio Pop-Ups in the future. See you at the next one!”
As Mitch and Alex relate, we’re planning to do more of these Studio Pop-Ups around Australia this year and into the future. Stay tuned for the next one – we’ll have something to announce very soon… And don’t feel left out Melbourne: we’ve got some more Studio Discovery Sessions in the pipeline too.
