Experience Zenith’s latest 2024 releases with Time+Tide in our Melbourne Discovery Studio on June 22nd
Zach BlassAs members of the press, the Time+Tide team have the privilege of getting to see a lot of watches ‘in the metal’ – in particular, the Super Bowl of watch debut events, Watches and Wonders. Yes, brands have begun to be better about having watches in their boutiques and authorised dealers the day they are announced. However, it is not often all of the latest and greatest can be discovered in one place all at once. Formerly known as ‘touch and feel’ sessions and later adapted to ‘touch and try’, we had the chance to check out Zenith’s latest debuts during our time in Geneva. But now we offer you all the chance to have a ‘touch and try’ session of your own, to discover these Zenith timepieces through a Zenith Discovery Session event in our Melbourne Time+Tide Watch Discovery Studio.
Those in attendance will be able to explore, touch, and try the latest releases with the Zenith team, who will be on hand to provide insights into the craftsmanship and design philosophy behind each timepiece. Attendees will be some of the first in Australia to see Zenith’s 2024 novelties, so it’s a pretty special opportunity.
Date: Saturday, June 22nd
Time: 2pm – 5pm
Location: Time+Tide Watch Discovery Studio, Level 1/178 Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3004, Australia – directions here
Register your interest to attend here.
Taking the show on the road

Our Studio Managers Mitch and Alex will be bringing a selection of the most popular watches from all the brands we stock – including some of our Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide Hand Delivered “pizza watches”. We’re also pleased to announce that a special guest will be joining us on Sunday: Jody Musgrave, the affable Scottish-Australian behind the hit YouTube channel Just One More Watch, who will be there to show off his new watch brand, Erebus.
Date: Saturday, June 29th to Sunday, June 30th
Time: 10am – 5pm (one-hour appointments)
Location: QT Hotel, 49 Market St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia – directions here
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Watch meme of the week: a watch meme buffet

The deployment versus (the correct term) deployant nod was already enough for a chuckle, but the A.I. rendition of a strap monster had me belly-laughing hard.
Wrist-shot of the week: a 🔥 field watch
We often recap press events the team has been to throughout the week in this column, but I want to save my three-day adventure with Hamilton for when my Time+Tide Tribe video drops – so make sure you are subscribed to our new channel. As a bit of a teaser, Hamilton took us to the scorching summer heat of Arizona to field test some of its latest Khaki Field watches on land, air, and sea. Here you can see the propane flame lifting our hot air balloon to 3,000 feet in the air reflected in the crystal of the Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition 41mm on my wrist.
Time+Tide Shop pick of the week: Mido Multifort TV Big Date Gold PVD
Our customers have often remarked that the Mido Multifort TV Big Date looks a bit like a baby Patek Philippe Nautilus or Aquanaut – we reckon this new gold PVD version on a rubber strap really dials that Patek vibe up to 11. However, this Mido is no mere pretender and brings plenty to the table to be rated on its own merits, including its namesake big date window at 12 o’clock as well as a tasteful brown dégradé dial, a very ’70s look. It also boasts an 80-hour power reserve, which is far greater than you’ll find from any Aquanaut or Nautilus. Just saying.
Discover the Mido Multifort TV Big Date Gold PVD in the Time+Tide Shop, either online or in our Melbourne Discovery Studio. Price: US$1,315, A$1,975.

The Monsieur de Chanel Superleggera Intense Black Edition is the most masculine watch Chanel has ever produced
Ever since the launch of the Première watch in 1987, Chanel has been increasingly recognised as a serious watchmaker, largely thanks to its J12 model, which has been a canvas upon which the Maison has demonstrated some serious haute horlogerie in recent years. However, the J12 isn’t the only watch in Chanel’s range that embodies the codes of traditional watchmaking – there’s also the Monsieur de Chanel, which was brought to the fore in 2024 at Watches and Wonders Geneva with the Monsieur de Chanel Superleggera Intense Black Edition, which Jamie claims may just be the most masculine watch Chanel has ever produced. Watch the video above to find out why.
A guide to every Seiko brand
Seiko is known for being a brand that often produces one’s first mechanical watch as they enter the hobby, and has long amassed a huge cult following with its creations. Speaking of massive, Seiko, or rather the Seiko Corporation, has a vast and expansive catalogue that newcomers can find intimidating, with so many brands, sub-brands and collections, and a near-infinite number of references to explore. Borna’s recent story serves as a Seiko North star of sorts, breaking it all down for everyone to understand. Read the full story here.
Hot take: vintage sports watches are great to look at, but horrible to own
Just how much Zach’s latest hot take will resonate with you depends on where you are in your watch-collecting journey. It will also depend on your watch-wearing style and preferences. So, here it is. Zach argues why beloved vintage sports watches are great to look at, but ultimately not so great to own: a polarising opinion in a watch world that holds vintage sports watches so dear. The sentiment may sting, but Zach’s logic may soften the blow and save you from possible horological heartbreak and headache.
