New releases from Breguet, Ba111oD, Atelier Wen and more
Pietro PillaWe are just entering the fourth quarter of 2023, historically the hottest period of the year for watch brands as the holiday season approaches. In the past seven days, some serious timepieces have been released, including an incredible feat of collaborative horology from Akrivia and Louis Vuitton. Here are our favourites of the week.
Bōken Nomad
- Bōken introduces a Swiss-made brushed titanium case in a contemporary cushion shape.
- They are available in four different dial colours that are a fitting pairing with the clear ’60s and ’70s case inspiration.
- Water resistance is rated to 300 metres, meaning that they’ll have no issues with pretty much any water activity you throw at them.

Breguet Marine Tourbillon 5577
- The tourbillon, invented by Breguet in 1801, finds a new home within two new Marine timepieces.
- It is available either in a platinum case with a navy blue dial or in a rose gold case with a slate grey dial.
- In classic Marine collection fashion, their robust take on their classic coin-edged case is 100 metres water-resistant.

Citizen Eco-Drive 365
- Citizen has developed an all-new Caliber E365 Eco-Drive movement, bringing a year of running time on a full charge.
- It’s releasing in three new models, one of which is a limited edition based on the original Citizen Quartz EFA from 1973.
- The Eco-Drive 365 is the latest watch in Citizen’s eco-mindful catalogue and represents their pioneering stance in quartz technology.

Louis Vuitton x Akrivia LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie
- The LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie is Louis Vuitton and Akrivia’s first-ever collaboration and will be the last watch to ever be signed with Akrivia on the dial.
- It boasts a new LVRR-01 calibre developed entirely by Rexhep Rexhepi.
- It is a two-dial chronograph with a chiming complication and a five-minute tourbillon – limited to 10 pieces, priced at US$500,000.

Ba111od Chapter 7
- Ba111od goes back to its roots for the brand’s fourth anniversary, releasing an affordable, integrated-bracelet sports watch.
- The three-hander is available in three different dial variations, with or without an anthracite PVD case treatment.
- Powered by the Soprod P024 automatic movement, it’s sold with a matching steel bracelet and a textile strap.

Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer Tourbillon
- The Senator Chronometer Tourbillon evolves with a more modern-looking iteration boasting a guilloché mainplate.
- Its flyback tourbillon movement allows the tourbillon to reset when the crown is pulled out to a more precise setting of the time.
- This new model is a limited edition of just 50 pieces, available only at boutiques and selected retailers.

Atelier Wen x Revolution Perception Càn
- The Atelier Wen x Revolution Perception Càn is their second collaboration after just 6 months.
- The word Càn refers to brightness or radiance, captured by a golden champagne dial.
- It’s limited to 100 pieces, each guilloché dial hand-made by Master Cheng Yucai.

Grand Seiko SBGW297 & SBGW299
- The new Grand Seiko SBGW297 & SBGW299 are the latest 36.5mm 44GS-cased watches.
- They are the first of five to use fan-textured dials and the first standard production entries affixed to a bracelet.
- Neither is limited, with November 2023 availability, priced at US$5,400.

Bulova Maquina Men’s Performance Automatic
- Bulova partners with musician Marc Anthony to release a new skeletonised, two-tone timepiece.
- The gunmetal coating on the stainless steel case makes the gold bezel and dial details really pop.
- It’s powered by a skeletonised 82S7 Miyota automatic movement with small seconds, a 24-hour indicator and a 42-hour power reserve.

Ming 37.07 Monolith
- The original 37.07 model turns to the dark side with a black DLC case and a grey Super-LumiNova mosaic dial.
- Despite having the same dimensions as the previous model, the visual impact of the darker tones makes it appear larger.
- With domed sapphire crystals front and back, it’s possible to see the anthracite skeletonised bridges of the MING SW210.M1 movement.
