Time+Tide

Time+Tide Tribe was born to offer our loyal and faithful more colourful, opinionated, and behind-the-scenes content. These last few months, Andrew, Marcus, and Zach have certainly shared their opinions – whether the watch they most regret buying, the watch they would never be caught dead wearing, or their favourite wristwatch category. Today, however, leans a bit more into the behind-the-scenes element, with each member of the trio looking back and sharing a fun story from one of the many press trips they have gone on during their time with Time+Tide.

Full disclosure, Marcus wins best story by a long shot. Not because Zach and Andrew do not have stories to tell, rather Marcus’ story about a trip with TAG Heuer, which does include Andrew, is simply the bomb (pun intended?). We’ll leave it at that. No spoilers here.

Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards 2021 – Javier Bardem, Denis Villeneuve.

Zach, a two-time attendee of Hamilton’s bi-annual Behind the Camera Awards (and soon-to-be three-time), recalls a red carpet encounter he will never forget. The Behind the Camera Awards brings the spotlight on those who work on films behind the camera. Awards shows like the Oscars are largely about the actors, with only the more prominent behind-the-camera roles given attention as well. Hamilton’s award show, however, is dedicated entirely to those behind the camera. But, the big-name actors in front of the camera come to present the awards of the evening – Javier Bardem, Kristen Stewart, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Viola Davis, to name a few. But the actor in question in Zach’s story is Jason Isaacs – whose work you would be likely most familiar with is his portrayal of Lucius Malfoy, Draco’s father, in the Harry Potter film franchise. You’ll have to watch to find out what made this moment special.

Andrew’s story, or stories rather, are not so much humorous, to be fair. He didn’t get the memo. Instead, he gives an honest look into the hard work a globe-trotting watch journalist undergoes… And then recalls a funny, fun fact from one of our most popular videos.
