Whether you’re ready to jump on a waitlist or just leave hateful comments, the Rolex announcements at Watches & Wonders are the by far the most anticipated releases. Last year, we were treated to a few updates on some old favourites, a bubbly dial for the Oyster perpetual, and the stunning cocktail vibes of the 1908. This year, the five-pointed crown are focusing on precious metals with some hefty bling, with one sporty exception.
GMT-Master II with ghost bezel
- The new GMT-Master II in Oystersteel adapts the grey and black bezel insert which first dropped last year, evoking vintage ghost bezels.
- The black and grey colour scheme is paired with a green GMT hand for a small pop of colour.
- It has a 40mm case with 100 metres of water resistance, and the in-house calibre 3285.

1908 in platinum
- Because the first 1908 in 18k gold clearly wasn’t luxurious enough, now it’s available in 950 platinum.
- Its dial is the typical ice-blue which is associated with Rolex’s platinum watches, but now with a hypnotic guilloché pattern.
- The 39mm case is reassuringly hefty on its leather strap, and it uses the calibre 7140 with a 66-hour power reserve.

Deepsea in 18k yellow gold
- With its 44mm case entirely hewn from solid 18k yellow gold, the new Rolex Deepsea has to be a contender for the heaviest Rolex watch ever.
- The blue dial and ceramic bezel paired with the yellow gold has an old-school, braggadocio flair.
- It’s powered by the calibre 3235, and boasts a water resistance of 3,900 metres helped by the RLX titanium helium escape valve.

Cosmograph Daytona in diamond and mother-of-pearl
- There are four new Rolex Daytona references in 18k white, Everose and yellow gold, and diamond-set bezels, each featuring black and white mother-of-pearl on the dial.
- Each dial has a panda or reverse-panda arrangement of the shells, with creamy white mother-of-pearl and it’s unique blend of purple and greens.
- The calibre 4131 with a 72-hour power reserve is hosted in this 40mm case with 100m of water resistance.

Sky-Dweller on solid gold bracelet
- Last year saw a slew of updates to the Rolex Sky-Dweller, and now it has returned with new references in solid 18k gold and fresh dial colours.
- This reference also marks the first Sky-Dweller to be paired with a solid gold jubilee bracelet.
- The new-ish 9002 calibre is Rolex’s most complicated movement, with a 72-hour power reserve, and a Ring Command System which utilises the bezel as a kind of second crown.

- A range of new Rolex Day-Date pairs a diamond-set bezels, gold cases, and a large array of new dials.
- Available in both 36mm and 40mm, there is a choice of smoked, sunburst and diamond index dials.
- The most classic is certainly the yellow gold 36mm model on the President bracelet.
