Pietro PillaWhile we are all on the cusp of holiday vacations and time off, this has not slowed watch brands from unveiling last-minute entries ahead of the gift-giving season. Below are ten highlight watch debuts from the last seven days.
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon High Jewellery
- Vacheron Constantin outfits a white gold, blue-dialled Overseas Tourbillon with baguette-cut diamonds for the first time.
- The Maltese cross-shaped bezel sports 60 gems, while the dial and buckle feature another nine and 16 diamonds, respectively.
- The 42.5mm white gold case houses a 5.65mm tall tourbillon calibre with a peripheral winding rotor.

Chopard L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Dragon
- Next year will be the Year of the Dragon in the zodiac, and Chopard marks this with a new beautiful urushi lacquer dial.
- Each dial takes over 20 hours of work and the artist behind this is Minori Koizumi, a Japanese craftsman specialising in the delicate Maki-e technique.
- The golden dragon gracing the dial is housed in the L.U.C. XP case, measuring 39.50 mm, at just 6.80 mm thick.

Andersen Geneve x BCHH Celestial Voyager Supersonic
- The partnership between Andersen Geneve and Benjamin Chee Haute Horologerie gets a new dial design for a 20-piece limited edition.
- At the centre of the world timer dial we find a champlevé enamel dial that depicts the Chrysler Building in New York and a Concorde flying next to it.
- The distinctive guilloche blue-gold rotor visible through the back is decorated with a Concorde silhouette.

Maen Manhattan 39 Ultrathin
- The signature integrated bracelet of the Swedish brand Maen gets a makeover that makes it even thinner.
- The ‘weight loss’ from 9.3mm to 6.9mm was achieved thanks to the utilisation of the manual-winding ETA 7001 movement.
- The 2.5mm movement thick movement is fully decorated and visible through the sapphire case back.

Grand Seiko SBGW301 & SBGW305
- Grand Seiko has modified its 37mm Elegance case and crystal construction to improve serviceability.
- The silver dial 2017 SBGW231 has been reborn as the SBGW301, and the ivory dial SBGW235 is reborn as the SBGW301.
- The lugs have been re-engineered to accommodate the new ‘beads of rice’ bracelet, previously available only on some JDM models.

Tusenö Shellback V2
- The Swedish microbrand Tusenö updates its popular Shellback model for Christmas.
- A new flat-link bracelet with on-the-fly micro-adjustment is a big new plus, as is the switch to a Sellita SW200 movement.
- The dial features a sandwich construction with deeply recessed indices and a date window at 6 o’clock.

Bremont MBIII Stealth Limited Edition
- While you don’t have to eject yourself from a stealth bomber to get this watch, this stealthy Martin-Baker collab watch gives off undeniable black ops vibes.
- This particular configuration doesn’t immediately stand out thanks to its black DLC coating and tone-on-tone dial.
- In typical pilot’s watch fashion, it’s not particularly compact, measuring 50mm lug-to-lug and 43mm in diameter for better legibility.

- This Italian microbrand presents its idea of a vintage-inspired GMT in three different dial configurations.
- The fixed 24-hour bezel is colour-matched to the dial colour and features the brand’s signature mountain peaks at 12 o’clock.
- Water resistant to 100 meters and available on three different straps, this is a real G.A.D.A watch.

- A brightly coloured grooved dial arrives just in time for the Southern Hemisphere’s summer season.
- While bright with diamonds, this 36mm timepiece remains a proper diving watch that is water resistant up to 300 meters.
- The adjustable white rubber strap contrasts the black bezel that frames that lovely turquoise dial.

Bulova Sutton Mechanical Pocket Watch
- While pocket watches have long been overshadowed by wristwatches, it seems that they are slowly coming back, with Bulova jumping on that train.
- Introduced in the Sutton collection in two different configurations (silver or gold), it measures 50mm in diameter.
- Despite being a pocket watch, the skeleton dials with Roman numerals retain the distinctive design language of the American brand.
