European summer is finally approaching, and with this week’s selection, it’s finally looking like it too. Many of the releases sport bright colours both on the case and dial or with artistic detail all over. The watchmaker’s watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre is having a blast in particular, Vacheron Constantin brings more Historiques deliciousness, and the microbrands are out in force, as usual. Vacheron Constantin Les Historiques Chronograph ref. 47101 SWC Special Edition

  • Singapore Watch Club is famous for its very tasteful collaborations with iconic brands, and this 8th-anniversary celebration is no exception.
  • All fifteen Historiques Chronograph ref. 47101 come from SWC members’ collections, and they’ve been restored by the Swiss maison.
  • A gold commemorative bridge with SWC engraving has been added, as well as a red tip on the central chronograph’s seconds hand.

Mido Ocean Star 200C Carbon

  • Mido has brought carbon composite to the case and dial of the sporty Ocean Star 200C for this limited edition.
  • Its bezel is made of scratch-resistant ceramic and graduated accordingly to suit a 200-metre water-resistant diver.
  • It’s powered by an ETA-based, chronometer-certified movement with an 80-hour power reserve.

  • Unveiled to the world at their Sydney Reverso Stories exhibition, Jaeger-LeCoultre adds a new trio of watches with Tropical Art Deco Metiers d’Art in its Reverso One collection.
  • The colourful enamelled artwork wraps around the case, being visible all around.
  • The rose gold case is covered in diamonds which frame the simple, but elegant mother-of-pearl dial.

Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Purple

  • The characteristic style of Armin Strom gets a purple makeover in the new Gravity Equal Force.
  • The sapphire sub-dial leaves the stage to the stunning purple guilloché movement plate, crafted by Kari Voutilainen.
  • The three architectural bridges receive a dark grey treatment that matches the colour chosen for the nubuck strap with purple stitching.

  • The 40mm case now features a distinctive notch in the crown guards, akin to many vintage divers.

  • The not-so-serious London-based company Mr Jones does it again, making the timekeeping of their new release a mere afterthought.
  • The Indefatigable Sphinx, designed by surrealist artist Edward Carvalho-Monaghan, will always tell the right time if you know where to look.
  • While the hour window is on the right side of the dial, hours and seconds hands function in the traditional way.

Farer Banzare GMT

Farer Banzare

  • Farer is no stranger to bold colours, but the burgundy dial of this GMT model raises the bar.
  • Made in a limited edition of 100 pieces, it’s a tribute to a research expedition into Antarctica that occurred from 1929 to 1931.
  • The dial is stamped with a deep sunray texture at first, and then enamelled, polished lacquer is added to offer a lovely play of lights, shadows and reflections.

  • Nomos celebrates 75 years of German Basic Law with six new additions to the Ludwig collection.
  • The Bauhaus case gets an engraving on the caseback of the opening line of the German Basic Law – “human dignity shall be inviolable”.
  • Each of the six models is limited to 75 pieces, and they all feature a section logo at 6 o’clock.

  • The Metrodive collection comprises four versions, three with a stainless steel case and one with a DLC-coated surface.
  • As the name suggests, we’re looking at a cross between a diver and an urban everyday watch with a highly legible dial.
